Course Tour
The course is set in a valley and as a
result it’s vital to play several shots from plateau greens
together with some long carries from tee to fairway. In some cases
the fairways demand accurate driving and good iron play. Although
there are not hundreds of sand bunkers, those that do exist are
well placed.
Stunning Par 3's...
It is the par 3 holes that really give the
Waterfall its identity.
The
Punchbowl challenge...
‘Punchbowl’ (5th) is the first short
hole and is one of the most dramatic one-shot holes to be found,
with an elevated tee playing down to a green virtually surrounded
by steep-sided slopes, bar a small entrance at the front.
Don't forget to breath!
The 173-yard 10th, ‘Waterfall’, from which the
course gets its name, is another stunning short hole - players
can often be seen holding their breath for a few seconds after they
have launched their mid-iron into the air before it drops to the
green below.
Guards!
The ‘Blaster’ is the last of the short holes,
with bunkers on the left closely guarding the green. The ground
falls away sharply to the right into woodland and the approach to
this is out-of-bounds.
The only safe shot is straight at the pin
while wayward shots are guaranteed trouble!
